Conservation, Care and Preservation in Perpetuity

It is one of the main subjects of our foundation to preserve monuments of particular historical beauty and value. Conserving and protecting the beautiful building of the family-owned Dr. Palm´s Pharmacy in Schorndorf was the original motivation for the establishment of the Palm-Foundation and first subject of its funding.

Today, we maintain several historical properties owned by the foundation itself and we support external heritage-projects, too.

Due to our founders´ historical family backgrounds, our work is specifically geared towards the city of Schorndorf and the region of Saxonian Upper Lusatia.

Please note: According to German law we are

not working internationally - just in Germany
not supporting individuals - just organisations or institutions

Only exception to this rule is the international Johann-Philipp-Palm-Award for Freedom of Speech and the Press.

There is no entitlement to the right of support by the Palm-Foundation. The Board´s decision about the support of a project or organisation is final.

Auszug aus bereits geförderten Denkmalschutzprojekten:

Der Erhalt der stadtbildprägenden Schorndorfer Stadtkirche ist uns ein besonderes Anliegen. Mehrfach wurden Teilprojekte unterstützt, u.a. die Restaurierung des Palm´schen Familienepitaphs im Chorraum (2016), aufwändige Innenrenovierungen (2017) und die Sanierung des Dachstuhls (2018).
Das ehemals Palm´sche Anwesen Schloss und Park Lauterbach bei Moritzburg in Sachsen befindet sich seit der Wende in der Obhut eines privat initiierten Fördervereins. Mit viel Sorgfalt, Eigeninitiative und Spendengeldern wird das Baudenkmal nach und nach restauriert. Wir beteiligen uns daran.
