What drives us

“Small-scale concerns are nonetheless a part of the larger picture.” (Philipp Palm)

We believe everyone is entitled to a dignified and self-determined life within a community. That is why we strengthen our free and democratic social order based on tolerance and participation. We encourage young people in particular to help shape their future and take on responsibility. We support those who not only look out for themselves but also enrich, shape and make their surroundings a worthwhile place to live. We offer them assistance, consultation and support through our network.

Shaping the future of society…

One of our goals is to encourage people to actively take responsibility for themselves and others. This is the only way to create a vibrant civil society, achieve social progress and maintain the quality of life we are accustomed to. We are working towards this vision together with numerous partners in our four areas of support.

… ...on the basis of history and experience

There is evidence that the widely distributed Palm family has lived in Schorndorf since 1640. Dr Maria and Johann-Philipp Palm saw the establishment of the Palm-Foundation not only as the fulfilment of their own life goals. They also saw it as a deeply felt responsibility and commitment to a regional and family tradition of civic and community involvement.
